What you will learn
The PECB ISO 45001 Lead Implementer course is a five-day course that aims to equip you with the skills needed to set up, implement, manage and maintain an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) in accordance with the requirements and guidelines of ISO 45001:2018. It aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the requirements of ISO 45001, as well as the best practices and approaches used for the implementation and subsequent maintenance of an OHSMS. The ultimate aim of this course is to enable you to create the conditions for a safer workplace.
The training course is followed by the certification exam. If you pass the exam, you can apply for certification. "PECB Certified ISO 45001 Lead Implementer. Accredited by the IAS and recognised internationally, the "PECB ISO 45001 Lead Implementer" certificate validates your skills in implementing an SMSST in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 45001 standard.

Day 5: Certification exam
Examination "PECB Certified ISO 45001 Lead Implementer rs Examination and Certification Programme (ECP). It covers the following areas of competence: Duration: 3 hours
- Area 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of OHS and OHSMS
- Area 2: Launch of the implementation of the SMSST
- Area 3: Planning the implementation of an OHSMS in accordance with ISO/IEC 45001
- Area 4: Implementation of an SMSST in compliance with ISO 45001
- Area 5: Assessment of SMSST performance
- Area 6: Continuous improvement of an OHSMS in accordance with ISO 45001
- Area 7: Preparing for an SMSST certification audit
Training objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to :
- Explain the basic concepts and principles of an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) in accordance with ISO 45001
- Interpreting the requirements of ISO 45001 for an OHSMS from an auditor's point of view
- Initiating and planning the implementation of an OHSMS in accordance with ISO 45001, using PECB's IMS2 methodology and other best practices
- Supporting an organisation in the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of an OHSMS in accordance with ISO 45001
- Preparing an organisation for a third-party certification audit
Training prerequisites
A good knowledge of the ISO 14001 standard and an in-depth understanding of the principles behind its implementation.
